There are very important highlights concerning the focus of raising student interest in fruit as well as vegetable consumption by increasing the usage of locally grown food and much more. Students in Mrs. Alonso's class at the Union Hill Middle School celebrated Saint Patrick's Day by working on "buying" ingredients for homemade Irish Soda bread. After their math lesson, they baked a delicious treat they could all share.

Students in Ms. McGuire's & Mrs. Popailo's home rooms at the Union Hill Middle School went on a tour of Ikea recently. They learned what is needed to furnish a home and were challenged to design as well as plan their dream homes. A lunch of Swedish meatballs was enjoyed afterwards.

Hello everyone, please take a moment to review the important letter from Union Hill Middle School Principal Michael Abbato concerning Picture Day coming up for our 8th grade students. All graduation caps, gowns, yearbooks and photos have been paid for by our Union City Board of Education at no cost to our Union Hill families.

The Union Hill Middle School Students who received High Honor Roll for Marking Period One or Two, Students of the Month and Science Fair Award Recipients were invited to a catered dinner for their families in the Union Hill Middle School Gymnasium.

This was an awesome event that took place as Union Hill Middle School students enjoyed a painting lesson, music, breakfast and desserts. A special thank you to the Union Hill Middle School Based - Support Services Team. The students had an amazing time and were able to each bring home a love themed art piece to their family.

After 10 plus years of not competing against each other, the two Union City Middle Schools had a game for the ages. Both Principals, Mr. Aleman and Mr. Abbato started the game by reaffirming that the middle schools have never been closer and that this game was about continuing to unify our great district and community.

Union Hill’s Young Marines Program participated in a community service project to revamp the school’s courtyard. Students were rewarded for their hard work with a pizza social! What an outstanding job by the Young Marines.

Since the first day of school, Jasmine Canton has demonstrated tremendous effort, responsibility and good judgement. She asks important questions about lessons that benefit the class, participates everyday, and is always willing to help the students and teachers in the classroom.
