The Young Marines continue to serve our community

The Young Marines at the Union Hill Middle School participated in a battle of the grades school-wide food drive. Mr. Abbato and Union Hill staff members were pleased to have the help of the Young Marines team who assembled boxes of food, which were then gifted to our deserving families for Thanksgiving.

The Importance of Fire Safety

Mrs. Popailo's & Ms. McGuire's Life Skills classes at the Union Hill Middle School visited Engine 11 in Jersey City for a lesson in Fire Safety and a tour of the fire house. Students explored the fire truck, worked the hose and learned what firefighters do on a daily basis to keep everyone safe.

The Union Hill Middle School and the Union Hill Middle School Community Service Club are committed to making a difference in the community.

Celebrating Halloween

The Union Hill Middle School celebrated Halloween with costume competitions, mummy wrap competitions, dance performances and great food. An awesome BBQ lunch was served for our students that included fries, burgers, hotdogs, hot chocolate and popcorn.

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

The Union Hill Middle School celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month by highlighting different cultures around the world through their music, art and food. It was truly an event to remember. Our school enjoyed student created presentations and live performances by professional dancers.

Working on Culinary Skills

Mrs. Alonso's 7th & 8th grade Life Skills class at the Union Hill Middle School is working on their culinary skills with the help of local restaurants. They had a great time learning to make churros at El Artesano on Bergenline Avenue and enjoyed making pizza at Gio's Pizza on 39th Street. Thank you so much for making our students feel at home.
